What Panda Expander processes
On Mac, Panda Expander observes keyboard events needed to recognize enabled abbreviations and uses macOS Accessibility to replace an abbreviation in the focused text field. Matching and rendering happen locally.
On iPhone and iPad, the custom keyboard reads an offline library snapshot provided by the containing app. The keyboard works without Full Access, performs no network requests, and cannot read the pasteboard.
Your snippet library
Snippets are stored locally. If private iCloud sync is enabled, Apple CloudKit synchronizes them through the private database associated with your Apple Account. Panda Expander does not operate a separate account system or application backend.
Diagnostics
Local diagnostics may retain timestamps, outcomes, insertion method, verification state, duration, target app bundle identifier, and a non-content editor fingerprint for up to 14 days. They do not retain typed text, rendered expansions, snippet contents, form values, surrounding document text, clipboard contents, or file paths.
A support report is created only when you choose to copy or send one. Review it before sending. It contains app and OS version, permission state, sync preference, and the same metadata-only recent activity.
Information we do not collect
- No advertising or cross-app tracking.
- No product analytics or behavioral telemetry.
- No AI processing of snippets or typed text.
- No sale or sharing of personal information.
- No website cookies or third-party analytics.
Protected fields
Panda Expander disables expansion in secure text fields and known password-manager apps. iOS also prevents third-party keyboards from operating in secure fields, phone-pad fields, and apps that prohibit custom keyboards.
